My Story

Fitness Did Not Just Change My Body — It Changed My Life

I was not always the confident trainer people see today. I started as a skinny, shy kid — quiet in class, unsure of myself, and far from the athletic mold. The gym was not a hobby at first. It was an experiment. Then it became an anchor.

As I built muscle, something shifted beyond the mirror. Training gave me structure, discipline, and a confidence that spilled into every part of my life. Lifting was never just about looking better. It was about becoming someone I respected when I walked into a room.

While still in high school, I helped my best friend Gray completely transform his body. Workouts, nutrition, consistency — the same fundamentals I was learning myself. When Gray said it changed his life, I felt something click. Helping someone else grow was more rewarding than any personal PR.

More friends started asking for workout plans, nutrition guidance, and coaching. What began as informal help turned into a calling. I pursued professional certifications, refined my approach, and committed to coaching full time.

More than a decade later, I've helped hundreds of people transform — in person at my Austin private gym and online through Built For Life. Every client story traces back to that same realization: real coaching changes lives, not just bodies.

My mission is simple: help people become healthier, stronger, and more confident — with training and nutrition they can actually sustain.

The Moment Everything Changed

The Transformation That Changed My Life

Before I earned certifications, built MacFitt, or coached hundreds of clients, I helped my best friend, Gray.

In high school, Gray was skinny, lacked confidence, and wanted to change. I started writing his workouts, helping with nutrition, and training alongside him every week.

Watching his body transform was incredible—but what stayed with me wasn't the physical change.

It was seeing his confidence grow. The way he carried himself. The way he talked about his future.

For the first time, I realized fitness could change far more than someone's appearance.

That experience made one thing clear: helping other people transform their lives was more fulfilling than any personal achievement I could accomplish in the gym.

That realization led me to earn multiple certifications, spend years coaching clients, and eventually build MacFitt with one mission: helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident for life.

I started as a skinny, quiet teenager with no athletic background. Through years of consistent lifting, progressive overload, and learning what actually drives muscle growth — not shortcuts or hype — I built a physique that changed how I carried myself. That first transformation taught me that consistency beats perfection, and that the gym builds confidence as much as muscle.

COVID Weight Gain → Lean Again

Years into my coaching career, life during COVID disrupted my own routines. I gained body fat, lost structure, and had to practice what I preach — dialing in nutrition without extreme dieting, rebuilding training habits, and getting lean again without burning out. That experience deepened my empathy for clients navigating busy seasons, stress, and real-life setbacks.
